As the Chairman of the Australasian Newborn Hearing Screening Committee, it is an honour to welcome you to the 6th National Conference in the splendid port city of Fremantle.

The conference is an excellent opportunity to meet and interact with colleagues in a multi-disciplinary environment and to update on the latest diagnostic equipment and techniques, habilitation and cochlear implantation. The quality of the speakers and chairmen from local, regional and overseas assures that the presentations will be very instructive and varied.

In our field international contacts and exchange have a great tradition. I hope you will also have the opportunity to make new friends and renew old acquaintances.
