Call for Abstracts

Abstract Submissions Close 31 January 2011

General information:
Authors of accepted abstracts must register to attend the Conference. A submission acknowledges your consent to this condition.

Posters and papers
Abstracts can only be submitted online via the abstract submission button below.

Abstract Submission
Abstracts should be written in English using the Helvetica Regular font size 12

Authors will receive a confirmation e-mail once an abstract has been received. This confirmation will include a paper number, which must be used for any further communication regarding your abstract.

Authors can request their submission be considered for a poster or free paper presentation. However the final decision will be undertaken by the Scientific Committee once all abstracts have been assessed. Abstracts will be evaluated according to their scientific/clinical merit. Abstracts can only be submitted in English. Submission of abstract constitutes a commitment by the author to present if at the Conference if accepted. Both the acceptance and schedule will be communicated to the authors via e-mail soon after the review process.

Guidelines for submission

• Abstracts have to be written in English

• Abstracts must be submitted online (abstracts sent in written form by mail or fax will not be accepted).

• Every field of the author’s information must be completed

The text should be structured with the following sections:

• OBJECTIVES

• METHODS

• RESULTS

• CONCLUSIONS

• The text should not exceed 250 words

• Papers must present new results and be of scientific value

• References, tables, figures and halftone illustrations are not permitted.

• Any abstract that does not comply with these guidelines will be rejected.

Accessories
Guidelines for presentation:

1. Oral
Both papers and posters should be supported by a PowerPoint presentation. The maximum speaking time for papers is 20 minutes including 5 minutes for questions. This time frame will be strictly adhered to by the session chairs.

2. Poster
Size of the poster board is 120 cm high and 90 cm wide, further information about the hanging will be provided in the lead up to the Conference.

3. Video
The requested format is a PC file format AVI or MPEG on a CD Rom, DVD Rom or USB.
Videos must be narrated in English
The maximum duration of the video must be 10 minutes.

Publication
Abstracts will be included in the abstract book available to all participants.

Registration for authors
Submission of an abstract does not imply automatic registration to the Conference, Registration is mandatory for all presenters of abstracts, but can be completed after the acceptance of the abstract.
